Cable Jointing Trainer

We are looking for someone who can deliver a wide range of both practical & classroom based training in the Power Distribution related subject areas.

Ideally, candidates should hold a recognized teaching qualification, such as a PTLLS, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or similar equivalent and have a good technical knowledge of the power distribution sector, with at least 3 years industry experience.

We would welcome applications from individuals who have the experience, but not a teaching qualification, who would be interested in becoming a trainer.

The successful candidate will be based at our Carrington centre but may be required to travel to other sites.

  • Maintain high standards of work at all times, keeping accurate records

  • Keep up to date with quality improvement initiatives and industry standards

Utilities Training and Assessment Officer (x2)

We are looking for someone who can deliver a wide range of both practical & classroom based training in the gas and/or water distribution related subject areas.

Applicants should have or be willing to work towards a recognized teaching qualification, such as a PTLLS, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or similar equivalent and have a good technical knowledge of the gas and/or water distribution sector, with at least 5 years industry experience.

The successful candidate will be based at our Carrington centre but may be required to travel to other sites.

  • Keep up to date with quality improvement initiatives and industry standards

Apprenticeship Quality Assurance Officer

Key responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality assurance plan is met
  • Reporting to the Contracts Manager for Funded Learning
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of functional skills to Level 2
  • Undertake observations of teaching, learning & assessment
  • Complete learner and employer surveys including the destination of apprentices
  • Ensure that learner progress reviews are completed to a high standard
  • Provide support in raising awareness of PREVENT, Safeguarding and the well-being of apprentices and ensure records such as DBS are up to date.
  • Ensuring CPD records are maintained
  • Other duties that are required from time to time

Key competencies
  • An understanding of quality training delivery and the ability to make improvements in relation to Ofsted's CIF
  • Compliance with awarding body standards
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to support colleagues
  • Ability to meet objectives within specified timelines
  • Effective planning and organisational skills to prioritise workload
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders
  • IT literate

Qualifications and Experience
  • PTLLS or equivalent qualification as a minimum
  • A1 or equivalent qualification as a minimum
  • V1 or a willingness to work towards
  • GCSE grade C or above in maths and English or equivalent qualification
  • 3 years experience delivering training in a work based learning environment, specifically delivering functional skills
